TL;DR: For most features, your images stay in your browser. For AI metadata removal, we use secure server processing.
How this works:
- ✓ Privacy-focused: Basic metadata removal happens locally in your browser
- ✓ Limited uploads: Only when using AI metadata removal, images are temporarily processed on our secure servers
- ✓ No storage: We don't permanently store any data or metadata
- ✓ No tracking: No analytics or tracking tools are used
Technical Details:
For basic metadata removal, this tool uses your browser's built-in Canvas API to create new, clean copies of your images. The original files and their metadata never leave your device.
For AI metadata removal, images are temporarily processed on our secure servers, then immediately deleted after processing.
Data Retention
When you use our "Strip AI Metadata Only" feature, your images are temporarily processed on our secure servers. We want to assure you that:
- Images are processed in memory and are not permanently stored on our servers
- All image data is automatically deleted immediately after processing is complete
- We do not analyze, share, or use your images for any purpose other than providing the metadata removal service you requested
- No logs containing your image data are kept
For the "Strip All Metadata" feature, all processing happens directly in your browser, and your images never leave your device.
Data Usage:
- Original images: Only leave your device for AI metadata removal, and are never stored
- Metadata: Removed locally or on our secure servers, depending on the feature used
- Processed images: Saved directly to your device
